Rita’s First Day Of Spring Giveaway Cancelled

Rita’s Italian Ice has cancelled their annual giveaway to welcome the first day of spring.

The company would have hosted the event that offered free water ice on March 20. This year would have marked the 28th years of the beloved tradition.

“While we can’t celebrate together, we plan on celebrating those who have been keeping us safe throughout the year. Don’t worry, we’re still open for business, and we look forward to seeing you soon,” the company said.

Officials from Rita’s Italian ice said it was a “difficult decision” to cancel the event due to the pandemic.

Former Philadelphia firefighter Bob Tumolo started Rita’s Italian Ice in Bensalem in 1984. Since then, the company has been sold and opened stores across the globe.
