A Bristol Township woman was arrested after a police chase through Bristol Borough.

Around 8:50 a.m. Monday, borough Officer Elifa Soto spotted a Mitsubishi on Radcliffe Street that matched the description of a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Bristol Township earlier in the day. The patrolman caught up to the vehicle and confirmed it was stolen by running its license plate, police said.

“The vehicle traveled onto Wilson Avenue, at which time, it made an abrupt turn onto Garfield Street going the wrong way.  At this time Officer Soto activated his emergency lights and sirens, which the vehicle disregarded,” police said in a statement.

The Mitsubishi continued to flee from the officer and engaged in a “slow-speed pursuit,” police said.

The chase ended in the 400 block of Washington Street after the Mitsubishi hit a minivan that had people inside, police said.

At that time, Megan Loyer, 33, who was driving the Mitsubishi, was arrested without incident, police said.

Witnesses who saw the chase told LevittownNow.com they spotted the light-colored Mitsubishi traveling with Bristol Borough and Bristol Township police vehicles following.

The minivan that was struck by the Mitsubishi was not damaged, and no injuries were reported.

Loyer was charged with receiving stolen property, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, and unauthorised use of a motor vehicle. She was arraigned by District Judge Frank Peranteau Jr. and jailed on 10 percent of $25,000.

Bristol Borough police said additional charges are pending in their jurisdiction.
