Two people were rushed to the hospital after a violent crash in Bristol Township early Sunday.
The crash happened around 1:20 a.m. near the Wawa in the 250 block of Bristol-Emilie Road in the Levittown section. A car slammed into a telephone pole at a high rate of speed and split into two pieces, one resting against an occupied home, authorities said.

Bristol Township police said the preliminary investigation showed the Chevrolet Monte Carlo was traveling westbound on Bristol-Emilie Road when it crossed into the eastbound lanes and hit the pole.
The two people in the vehicle were ejected from the car and injured, according to Levittown Fire Company No. 2.
Ambulances from the Levittown-Fairless Hills and Bucks County rescue squads took the two injured people to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown Township. Police said the two were critically injured.

Along with police and medics, Levittown Fire Company No. 2 and Bristol Township Fire Police responded to the crash.
