The tropical storm is predicted to bring 3 to 6 inches of rainfall, winds of 35 to 45 mph, guests as high as 60 mph, potential storm surge of 1 to 3 feet along the Delaware River, and a chance of isolated tornadoes into Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service.
“Emergency management officials will be monitoring the storm at the EOC along with members of numerous county government departments, PennDOT and fire, EMS and law enforcement responders. Also represented, some of them virtually because of the COVID pandemic, will be the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, the National Guard, the Red Cross, PECO, Met-Ed and PP&L,” a statement from the county said.
Generators will be ready for critical facilities and shelters if needed along with mobile HVAC systems for sites like nursing homes that may lose power. Additionally, mass care equipment will be prepared to be deployed if emergency shelters are needed, Bucks County Emergency Services Director Scott Forster said.
