Early Morning Car Fire Damages Vehicle, Home

Quick action by firefighters stopped a car fire from spreading to a home.

The fire happened around 2:40 a.m. Thursday when blazebusters were dispatched to a residence on Chandler Drive in the Pennwood Crossing mobile home community in the Morrisville section of the township.

Arriving firefighters found a car’s engine compartment ablaze against a home.

Crews were able to quickly put down the flames. The car was heavily damaged, and there was only minor damage to the siding of the home, Falls Township Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said.

The residents were alerted to the fire by car alarms that were going off.

Due to the quick knockdown, the damage to the residence was limited and it remains habitable, Dippolito said.

The fire marshal told LevittownNow.com that the fire appears to be accidental.

No injuries were reported.
