Pennsylvania State Police said Thursday afternoon that they are seeking information from anyone in the area of the Highland Park neighborhood in Middletown who may have heard gunshots early Sunday morning

In a statement, troopers said anyone who heard gunshots between midnight and 4 a.m. should contact them at 215-942-3907.
Their press release did not state the reason for seeking the information, but it follows troopers searching the area behind the The Raymond P. Mongillo Sr. Community/Senior Center on Trenton Road Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. A neighboring resident told LevittownNow.com that state police knocked on his door asking if he heard any loud noises or gunshots over the weekend.
On Thursday, law enforcement sources confirmed to this news organization that the focus on Middletown is part of a probe into the shooting death of Joshua McRae, 31, Trenton. The 31 year old died after taking multiple gun shot wounds and being dumped on I-295 in Bristol Township early Sunday morning.
