Overturned Car Backs Up Traffic On Route 1

A woman was taken to the hospital following a crash on Route 1 Tuesday evening.

The crash left one vehicle on its roof in the left lane of southbound Route 1 in Middletown just past the overpass near Hulmeville Road around 6:40 p.m.

Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry said the driver was taken to St. Mary Medical Center with unknown injuries that did not appear to be life threatening. Firefighters did not have to cut the woman from the vehicle.

The Parkland Fire Company and Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad responded along with police and the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company.

The crash backed up traffic on Route 1 as the vehicle was removed from the roadway.
