For a nonprofit organization like Levittown United Little League, the vandalism that was discovered last Friday at their field house was a major setback.

The vandals broke into the concession stand and clubhouse behind the Ben Franklin School on Mill Creek Road in Bristol Township’s Levittown section and caused substantial damage.

Two teens, who have been identified by police, used a bat and hatchet to destroy the facility. A scoreboard controller, refrigerator, cash register, and freezers were smashed, according to the organization’s social media and Levittown United President Rick Palmer.

Palmer stated that the damage is a major hurdle for the group.

As of Saturday, a GoFundMe for the nonprofit stated that the damage will cost $8,000 to $10,000 to fix. Donations can be made through the page.

“Although the boys where caught, the financial costs of the damage will likely never be recovered. The organization is operated by volunteers that serve the children from most of Bristol Township. The league is not in the financial position to recover and replace this kind of damage. The league is operated with the generosity of our sponsors and registration Costs that cover our yearly budget,” the fundraiser page said.

One thing that was clear is the cost of the damage could take the group years to recover from.
