A Falls Township man has been charged following a shooting that left him injured last Wednesday.
Keith Dorian Schultz, 48, survived a “serious” gunshot wound to his left hand early last Wednesday morning. He was transported from his home in the 1100 block of Anders Drive in Falls Township’s Morrisville section around 5:40 a.m. and treated at St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown.

According to court papers, township police were called to the 1100 block of Anders Drive in the Pennwood Crossing mobile home community for a report of a gunshot victim. They arrived and the injured Schultz told an officer he was shot by an unknown individual in a wooded area along nearby Bristol Pike while on his bicycle.

The area where Schultz said the shooting allegedly happened was searched by police and no evidence was found. An officer at the Anders Drive mobile home ended up finding Schultz’s bicycle with no blood on it. They did find a bullet hole in the residence and blood in the living room, police said.
During the execution of a search warrant at the home, investigators found bullet damage inside, blood and flesh on the couch, numerous bullet holes, a five-gallon bucket of paint that had a bullet hole, a bullet casing, and a bloody .380-caliber handgun in a black plastic shopping bag buried under the dirt below the mobile home.

Last Thursday, Schultz told detectives at the hospital that he was looking for his roommate along Delaware Canal State Park when he was shot. However, he changed his story and admitted he accidentally shot himself while inside the mobile home, police said.
“After bandaging himself, the [Schultz] then placed the handgun in a black bag and hid the gun behind the residence,” Detective Stephen Reeves wrote in an affidavit of probable cause.

Schultz has been arrested previously in Florida, New Jersey, and Oklahoma. He also has a 1997 conviction in Bucks County for burglary, which prohibited him from possessing a firearm.
Schultz was arraigned by on-call District Judge Michael Gallagher Friday night on charges of persons not to possess firearms, reckless endangerment, and false reports. He was released on $75,000 unsecured bail.
