Police released more information on a Wednesday morning shooting in the Pennwood Crossing mobile home community.

Officers were called to the 1100 block of Anders Drive in Falls Township’s Morrisville section around 5:30 a.m. for a report of a shooting. They arrived to find an adult man with a gunshot wound to the hand, police said.

The man was taken to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown and is expected to survive.

Initial reports were that the shooting happened near a wooded area along Old Bristol Pike, but that information was found to be false, Lt. Nelson Whitney said.

On Wednesday afternoon, Falls Township and Bucks County detectives were focusing their attention inside the mobile home and had ripped back a portion of the skirting in the rear. An evidence marker was next to an object under the mobile home.

“After obtaining a search warrant for the home on Anders Drive, Falls Township police detectives collected several pieces of evidence, including multiple firearms and bullet fragments,” Whitney said.

Police said firefighters from Falls Township Fire Company assisted with lighting the scene and accessing a gun safe.

DNA and firearms testing will be used to determine more information on the incident.

Micky Reynolds, who lives a few homes away from the shooting scene, said she heard the police and ambulance response early Wednesday.

She said the home is a “trouble spot” on the otherwise quiet street. She noted that people are often seen coming to and leaving the home, adding that she suspected drugs may have been sold from the residence.

“There’s just a lot of problem there,” Reynolds said. “There are always cars in and out.”

Another neighbor, who did not state their name, said the home did often have activity at it, but they found the man who lived there to be a “harmless guy.”

Whitney thanked county detectives, firefighters, and Pennwood Crossing residents for their assistance “in helping to make the neighborhood a safer place to live.”

Anyone with information on the shooting has been asked to contact Detective Stephen Reeves at 215-949- 9100 or s.reeves@fallstwp.com.
