Hazmat Team Enters Home Following Death

Police confirmed the man’s death appears to be suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning, but the investigation was ongoing as of Wednesday night.

Hazmat crews were called to Levittown Monday night.

Authorities declined to comment on the circumstances, but Bristol Township Emergency Management, Bucks County Hazardous Incident Response Team, Bucks County Rescue Squad, Edgely Fire Company, Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad, and Bristol Township police were focusing their attention on a home in the unit block of Dark Leaf Lane into early Tuesday morning.

Sources said the home was the scene of a death by what appeared to be carbon monoxide. The man’s death was suspected to be by suicide.

Police did not respond to requests for comment and officials on scene referred questions to law enforcement. The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office said their detectives were not involved in any investigation on the street.

While there were numerous rumors about what happened, the sources who spoke on the matter said there was no threat to the public.

The hazmat team, who entered a home in decontamination suits, was called to Dark Leaf Lane around 9:30 p.m. to assist with a police investigation, according to dispatchers.

The entire street was blocked by fire police and police tape was put up while crews entered the home.
