The Bucks County Courier Times has moved from their recognizable but aging headquarters off Route 13 to a local office building.
The Bucks County Courier Times and Doylestown Intelligencer newsrooms and business staff now operate out of a fresh fifth-floor office suite at the eight-story One Oxford Valley office building that connects to the Oxford Valley Mall in Middletown.

The newspapers published a short article on the move to their modern digs this week.
The downsizing comes a little under two years since family-owned Calkins Media sold the Bucks County Courier Times, The Intelligencer, Burlington County Times, and some of its other publications to hedge fund operated Gatehouse Media for $17.5 million. In the time since, the newspapers have drastically cut their staff and the amount of local content.
The 63,000-square-foot Tullytown building that previously housed the Bucks County Courier Times and executive offices of Calkins Media, which had owned newspapers and TV stations, remains on the market for $2.4 million. The property is about 9 acres. A neighboring warehouse building on about an acre of land that was not included in the sale to Gatehouse Media was sold by a Calkins-affiliated company for $1 million last fall.

“While the Bucks County Courier Times building had its flaws, there is a lot of tradition in that building. It was our home for a long time. So while we’re in a new space, it’s my goal to preserve some of that tradition and carry it to our new home,” Gatehouse Media General Manager Jake Volcsko said in the newspaper story.
The former newspaper building along Route 13 was once a bustling operation that printed tens of thousands of papers before a new press facility in Falls Township was built in the early 2000s.

Gatehouse Media owns the former Calkins Media printing facility on Geoffrey Road in Falls Township and operates a small distribution warehouse north of Doylestown.
The Intelligencer vacated their building near the heart of Doylestown Borough in 2018 after the Calkins family retained ownership. The building was recently taken down, and the site is expected to be redeveloped into a mixed-use complex.
A former employee at the Bucks County Courier Times, who did not wish to have their name published, said just two decades ago the newspapers operated offices in Doylestown, Horsham in Montgomery County, Northampton, and Tullytown.
