One Shooting Victim Stable In ICU, Other Stable But In Extremely Critical Condition, Cops Say

The two men hit by bullets in Thursday evening’s shooting in Bristol Township remain in the hospital as of Friday afternoon.

Following the shooting, both men were driven in civilian vehicles to Lower Bucks Hospital. One was transported by medical helicopter to Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, and the other transported via Bucks County Rescue Squad ambulance to the same hospital.

Lt. Ralph Johnson said the man who was flown was in “stable but extremely critical condition,” and the other was stable in the intensive care unit.

The shooting broke out around 7 p.m. at Marie Lowe Recreation Park near the basketball courts off Schumacher Drive. The shooting, according to police, took place within close proximity and involved one of the injured men returning fire with a handgun.

Neighbors said rumors following the shooting indicated that an rapid gun fire was heard.

Johnson said that a weapon resembling a mini-AK-47 appeared to have been used and spent cartridges found at the scene could be used with that type of weapon.

The shooting happened after a dispute. Shortly before, a dice game may have been taking place at the park, police said.

At the crime scene Thursday night, at least 15 evidence markers surrounded a white sedan that had its back window shot out.

Police from multiple surrounding communities assisted Bristol Township officers at the scene and responding to a crowd at Lower Bucks Hospital.

As of late Friday afternoon, no charges had been filed in connection to the shooting.
