A man has been accused of making false reports to Penndel police.
Borough resident Matthew Lawrence, 38, first flagged down an officer last month to ask if they were in the area of Holly and South Bellevue avenues for vehicle break-ins. The officers said they were not aware of any thefts in the area while Lawrence said he heard a sound outside of his house and saw two men in dark clothing running away, police wrote this week in a press release.

The officers checked the area and found nothing.
About an hour later, according to police, Lawrence called authorities and said there were several people in the rear of a home on South Bellevue Avenue. Officers checked and found no one.
A short time later, Lawrence allegedly called 9-1-1 and said there were people in the area of Oak Avenue and law enforcement found no one.

Police said in Lawrence’s fourth contact with police, he called 9-1-1 and reported there were more people behind a home on South Bellevue Avenue.
Residents of the home on South Bellevue Avenue pulled their security camera footage and only Lawrence was spotted, police said.

Authorities said in a press release that Lawrence was the only person spotted in the area.
