Scientists and company leaders from Dow Chemical Company worked with students at a local elementary school on Tuesday.

The scientists from the company’s Bristol facility and other regional sites worked with third and fourth graders at Keystone Elementary School in Bristol Township’s Croydon section. They spoke with them about careers in the science fields and showed off some experiments.

Students in Angie Burgess’ class were thrilled to be among those who benefited from the program and took part in a demonstration of super absorbent polymers. The students were thrilled when adding water to the polymer powder created an elastic gel while a second powder created a snow-like substance when water was added.
