Croydon Fire Company Chief Tom Tryon said the community is invited to take part in the parade and open house. Food, live music, beer from Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company, and fire equipment will be on display at the fire station along State Road.
“This is our time to celebrate 100 years of volunteerism,” he said.
The fire company started as the Croydon Home Improvement Association in 1918 when the section of Bristol Township was far less populated. In 1924, the association grew their firefighting duties and purchased a specialized truck. That same year, the fire company was officially chartered.

Today, the volunteer fire company has about 64 members and 22 active firefighters. On a yearly basis, volunteers respond to about 500 calls for service, ranging from house fires and vehicle rescues to alarm systems. Tryon said the fire company is often called to other parts of Bristol Township and Bensalem to assist with incidents.
Tryon said the volunteer fire company is always looking for new volunteers who want to help their community.
