Bomb Threats At Middletown Business Under Investigation

Explosive detection dogs were called to a Middletown business after a bomb threat Monday.

Police said Silgan Plastics on Wheeler Court reported that they received a phone call threatening that a bomb would go off inside the building. The caller did not say when the bomb would detonate.

Several specially trained dogs were called to the business and conducted a sweep, police said.

No explosives were found in the building.

Police Chief Joseph Bartorilla said his department investigated another unfounded bomb threat at Silgan Plastics about six weeks ago.

Silgan Plastics is an international company that operates a sales and manufacturing facility on Wheeler Court.

The investigation into both incidents remains underway.
