Addiction Education & Narcan Training Event Set For Next Week

A free addiction and opiate education session with Narcan distribution is coming to Bristol Township this month.

The training is being hosted by the Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission and No Longer Bound Prevention and Training Services. The training is scheduled for May 22 and the first 60 attendees to register will receive a free dose of Narcan.

Narcan is used to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

The event will teach attendees about addiction as a brain disease, the signs and symptoms of an overdose, and how to use Narcan and available community resources.

The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. through 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22 at 1248 Schumacher Drive in Bristol.

Attendees are required to pre-register, and can do so at https://addiction-awarenss-education-4-24.eventbrite.com or by calling (215) 444 -2740.

“Our hope is to attract attention to the importance of learning about what is addiction, how opiates work in the system and thus how Narcan saves lives. ,” said Donna Foisey, a drug and alcohol overdose prevention educator with the Bucks County drug and Alcohol Commission.
