One of the first official actions at Monday evening’s Middletown Board of Supervisors meeting was to congratulate the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Board of Supervisors voted to approve a proclamation in honor of the team’s Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots. The township will recognize Eagles Victory Celebration Day on Thursday, the day of the big parade in Philadelphia.

The elected officials urged all citizens to wear green in support of the team Thursday.
“Whereas, this Philadelphia Eagles team is the first in history to bring a Super Bowl championship to the city, and they are the first professional Philadelphia sports team to win a championship since 2008,” a portion of the proclamation read.
Middletown held an Eagles pep rally in advance of the big game last Friday.
