Four individuals from Bristol Borough were arrested in a drug bust after a search warrant turned up suspected heroin, crack cocaine and methamphetamine, according to investigators.

David Tenaglia, 38, James Clattenburg, 50, Michael Macaron, 32 and Lisa Drunas, 45, were arrested after the execution of a January 4 search warrant on the 500 block of Bath Street. The investigation was handled by Middletown police.

The search warrant for the building was issued after a December drug investigation focusing on the sale of methamphetamine. On January 4, police observed Clattenburg outside of the residence before serving the search warrant. Investigators attempted to follow Clattenburg into the residence, but he locked the door leading to his third floor quarters, police wrote in court papers.

While the door was closed and locked, Clattenburg gave Drunas $5,000 to hold and attempted to dispose of the methamphetamine that he was allegedly selling. Clattenburg opened the door, where officers discovered a ripped sandwich bag with suspected drugs inside and what appeared to be drugs smeared on the floors and walls of the closet, police said.

A scale was found in a bucket of bleach, which Clattenburg admitted to dunking to erase traces of the drug, police said.

During an interview with officers, Clattenburg claimed that he “was a 50-year-old construction worker who would not work for $100 per day,” the affidavit states.

During the execution of the search warrant, police entered the rooms of Tenaglia and Macaron, where they found crack cocaine and heroin, according to court papers.

Drunas admitted to holding Clattenburg’s money for him, police said.

Drunas was charged with a felony of hindering apprehension and a misdemeanor of tampering with evidence.

Tenaglia and Macaron were both charged with a felony of possession of a controlled substance with an intent to deliver and misdemeanors of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Tenaglia was also charged with a misdemeanor of possession of marijuana.
