Levittown Staple The Video Store Continues To Provide Stellar Customer Service

Although the location of their storefront has moved a few yards, the focus and mission behind Alice and John Tardino’s The Video Store is as staunchly present as ever before.

For more than 35 years, the Tardinos have operated The Video Store, which has become a staple in Bucks County. The store has changed locations and storefronts over the years, while customers have continued to patronize the shop while the duo has diversified. The store offers a huge variety of movies: new releases, a catalogue of old films and adult entertainment that are available for sale or rental. Beneath the candy and popcorn exterior exists a one-stop-shop for almost anything you might need.

If there is a single word to describe the breadth and value of the services the Tardinos provide, that word would be “niche.” The store offers non-criminal ink and electronic finger printing as late as 9 p.m., notary services, fax services, photocopies, passport photos, video transfers and more.

The Video Store is the only site in Bucks County to get ink fingerprints where customers receive the cards completed. Electronic and ink fingerprints are both non-criminal, but ink is used for when the applicant will be practicing outside of Pennsylvania.

Another popular service the store offers is the transfer of video from tape to a DVD. John is able to take just about any film and transfer it to DVD. This includes old formats like 8 MM and Super Eight film. The duo charges by two-hour intervals as opposed to “by-the-tape” pricing.

On more than one occasion, John recalls helping people who brought in old film, even when they didn’t know what kind of film it was. John is always willing to take a look and transfer the video, if the film is in good condition.

The new storefront is in the same shopping center where the store has stood in since the mid 1980’s. At 4350-C New Falls Road, the store is right next to La Vera 2 Pizza. The new store is just a short walk from the entrance of the old store. The original sign even sits in the window, welcoming customers into the bright and cheery atmosphere of a new store.

“We’re going to keep doing what we already do,” Alice explained.

The Video Store is continuing to focus on providing top-level care for each customer.

The care and effort go beyond the services provided. If someone wants a movie that the store doesn’t currently have, Alice works to find a copy. If she is successful, she will sell it to the customer. A huge catalogue of movies, plus an ever-expanding new release list means that you will be able to find any kind of movie at The Video Store.

“You know, if we’re here, we’re going to take care of you,” John said, explaining that if there is a group of people in the store after 9 p.m., the duo will work to get them what they need. If the sign reads “Open,” you are welcome at The Video Store.

When it comes down to the fact of the matter, it is fair to say that the move between storefronts has not done anything to diminish the quality of service the Tardinos have been providing their loyal customers for more than three decades.
