A New Jersey woman accused of fleeing from Falls Township officers was reportedly found laying in a child’s playhouse in Yardley.
An officer conducted a traffic stop along West Trenton Avenue Monday around 3 p.m. after the driver did not signal and had a darkened window tint.

As officers approached the vehicle, the driver- identified as Briana K. Carpenter, 22, of Cookstown, New Jersey – reversed and an officer had to move out of the way to avoid being struck. The car then sped off on West Trenton Avenue toward New Jersey, according to court papers.
Police said they switched on their emergency lights and pursued the vehicle as it drove on both sides of the road and onto the lawn of a home at the corner of West Trenton Avenue and North Lafayette Avenue in Morrisville Borough.

Shortly after, the chase was terminated and an officer followed the vehicle at normal speeds without running lights and sirens, police said.

Carpenter drove onto River Road before making a left onto Richard Road in Lower Makefield. At a home in the 300 block, the 22 year old got out and went into the back yard of a home, police said.
An officer wrote in court papers that Carpenter was found laying on her back in a child’s playhouse. Inside, officers allegedly found a glass smoking device, copper wiring and a pen cartridge, which is common used in combination with crack cocaine and the glass smoking device.
Police said Carpenter’s driving privileges had been suspected, revoked or recalled at the time.

Carpenter was arraigned late Monday afternoon on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, reckless endangerment, driving under suspension and drug-related offenses. She ended up posting 10 percent of $3,000 bail and was release until her next court appearance.
