More than 60 motorcycle riders came out in support of the Team Franky Foundation Saturday, marking the foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year.

The support didn’t stop at the ride, either, as families came out to a post-motorcycle ride picnic held at Tullytown Park.ย After riders traveled through the lower and central portions of the county, they returned to the park and their afternoon continued.

The money raised by the foundation goes towards helping families whose kids have cancers similar the disease that took Franky’s life in 2014. The money goes towards Christmas gifts, transportation to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and other various programs.

In the past, the foundation has contributed money towards researching the cancer that took Franky;s life, CHOP’s bereavement support facilities and even has provided grants to aid in funeral costs, according to Tiffany Fusco, the board president of the foundation and Franky’s mother.

Saturday marked the first time in the three years that Fusco went on the motorcycle ride. In past years, she would hold down the fort and prepare the picnic. In order to make the ride a little extra special, the organizers planned to stop at Franky’s graveside along River Road. The unplanned stop completely caught Fusco off guard.

“I was completely blown away,” Fusco said. “I just feel so blessed to have so much support.”

Running the foundation gives Fusco the chance to help children and families and putting together the child-friendly attractions at the picnic while putting smiles on kids’ faces is therapeutic.

“It means a lot to be able to give the kids a nice time,” she said.

“We might not be the biggest foundation, but we really try to make a difference, one kid at a time.”
