A nontoxic gas additive released by mistake caused a wicked smell in Lower Bucks County late Friday night.
The smell was first detected as it moved through Philadelphia and eventually made it’s way into Burlington County and Lower Bucks County, including Bristol Township, by approximately 11:30 p.m.,ย LevittownNow.com readers said.

6abc reported the gas additive was released by mistake by theย Paulsboro Refinery in Gloucester County, New Jersey. The refinery released aboutย 130 pounds of Sulfer Dioxide and 9 pounds of Hydrogen Sulfide shortly before 11 p.m.
The smell, according to NBC 10 and area residents, smelled like rotten eggs.
