A home health nurse is accused of fraudulently using her client’s checks and credit cards.

Cora Barnes, 55, of Bristol Borough, is accused of fraudulently obtaining close to $15,000 from her client. The client, who lives in Penndel, was an elderly woman and her World War II veteran husband.

The World War II veteran told Officer Michelle Williamson that Barnes had written checks double the amount they agreed to pay her.

Further investigation revealed Barnes had used the victims’ debit cards to make purchases from T-Mobile and Amazon.com, police said.

Barnes, according to court papers, admitted to police that she wrote checks in amounts not authorized by the elderly couple. She reportedly also said one of the T-Mobile payments was agreed to as a form of pay and the Amazon charges were made by her children and grandchildren after she forgot to remove it.
