Bristol Borough’s Mayor Submits Resignation

Bristol Borough’s mayor submitted his resignation Friday.

Mayor Patrick Sabatini’s resignation is due to the the fact he is moving out of the borough, according to borough officials.

According to Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe II, the council must appoint a new mayor in the 30 days following the official acceptance of the resignation. The resignation will be recognized and accepted at a special meeting on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at the Bristol Borough municipal building.

The plan is to appoint a new mayor by November’s agenda meeting, on Nov. 14. This will fall within the 30 day grace period the council has to replace Sabatini, according to DiGuiseppe.

At the time of publication, Sabatini could not be reached for comment on his resignation.

Sabatini has served in his position since 2013 and was previously a council member.
