The name of a fallen Edgely Fire Company volunteer was added to theย Bucks County Fallen Firefighters Memorial.

Crews this week added the name of Fire Police Captain John Doster,ย who began volunteering for the Edgely Fire Company or “Ten House” back in 1934. The longtime firefighter passed away on April 2, 2015 at the age of 95 ofย exhaustion and stress brought on by working a two-alarm fire in Hulmeville Borough.

Doster’s name is being added along with Warwick Fire Police Officer Louis Patti, whose December 2015 death was classified as line of duty.

Doster and Patti’s names were etched intoย theย Bucks County Fallen Firefighters Memorial in the courtyard of the old Bucks County Courthouse in Doylestown in advance of a weekend ceremony to remember the 30 firefighters and medics who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The annual ceremony will be held Sunday at 10 a.m.

Doster is recognizedย as the longest active serving firefighter in the state.
