Police have arrested a man they suspect was behind numerous crimes in Lower Bucks County.

The Edgemont Lane resident was home around 3 p.m. and heard a door slam. She checked and found her front door unlocked. As she went into her bedroom to get an iPad to talk to her husband who was away on business, she discovered the iPad, a diamond studded ring, a gift from her husband and a gold chain with a “sand dollar” medallion that was of sentimental value to her were all missing, police said.

Detectives went to a West Trenton Avenue pawn shop and checked out a ring and necklace that were pawned by Herrmann about an hour and a half after the burglary took place. The woman identified the items as her own, police said.

Aside from last week’s burglary, Herrmann is a suspect in at least two overnight burglaries in Falls, Lt. Hank Ward said. He added that Herrman is suspected in numerous other burglaries in Bristol Township, Lower Makefield and Morrisville.

Detective Sgt. Chris Clark said Herrmann is also suspected in several thefts from vehicles, a crime he previously has been accused of committing.

Detectives are awaiting DNA results from the various crime scenes to see if they match Herrmann as the suspect, Ward said.
