The Falls Township Supervisors took time during a recent meeting to acknowledge the fourth graduation of the Falls Township Police Citizens Police Academy.
“Our officers, the class, everybody did an outstanding job,” Police Chief Bill Wilcox said. “I can’t say enough good things about it.”
Falls Police are already gearing up for what will be the fifth Citizens Police Academy, which is set to begin on March 30.

“We put much effort and pride into the curriculum of this program,” Falls Police Officer John Yeager said. “We have designed the academy to give a better understanding of why and how we do this job.”
Some of the police-related education that’s shared during the weekly academy includes crime scene investigation; the dangers of traffic stops; a K-9 demonstration; training on use of force; the role of a district judge; drug use and its impacts; and other topics.

Falls Supervisor Chairman Bob Harvie commended police officers for coming up with the curriculum and running the academy.
“I think it really helps people get a better understanding of what a very difficult job police officers have,” he said.
