Man Who Assaulted Nurse Sentenced To Prison

A man accused of assaulting a nurse was sentenced recently.

Lasanah Kromah, 30, of Waldorf, Massachusetts, recently pleaded guilty to simple assault and disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to nine to 23 months in prison. He was also required to take medications and to abide by recommendations of a drug and alcohol evaluation, according to court papers.

The judge who handled the case also ordered Kromah could put his time in prison before trial toward his sentence and also approved parole if the 30 year old remained out of trouble.

Kromah punched a nurse in the face while at Lower Bucks Hospital on Bath Road in October. The nurse told police the assault was completely unprovoked and without warning, giving him no time to protect himself, according to court papers.

The victim suffered a cut and swelling to the effected area as a result, authorities said.

Kromah also had a detainer from New Jersey authorities.
