A Spanish web design firm used data from the Ashley Madison hack to create searchable world map showing how many accounts were registered to each town. It also shows how many of the users were listed as males.

The Ashley Madison hack, which remains under investigation by authorities, has caused the website that claims to help foster affairs to offer a large reward to those who catch the people who stole user data. The most recently released information contained names, user emails, credit card information, sexual habits, sexual desires and more. Documents related to the company’s business functions has also been released.
The online hack has had real world consequences. In Toronto, police have stated two suicides may be related to the Ashley Madison data release.
A group called “The Impact Team” claimed to hack the data as retaliation for Ashley Madison and related websites “paid delete” account feature. The “paid delete” feature brought the company millions in revenue but allegedly did not delete all the users’ information.
