Falls Township residents got the opportunity on Saturday to tour the municipal building and police station and become familiar with township personnel and procedures.
Throughout the course of the day, residents took tours through the municipal building and saw where the business of Falls takes place, as well as viewed the police station from the inside with Lt. Nelson Whitney.

“I think it is really important. I do this at every opportunity I get,” explained Whitney. K9 officers were also at the event, and gave a show with their k9s which garnered an audience of about 25 people, said Cpl. Steven Langan.

Township Manager Pete Gray worked with department heads to make the day a reality, he said. According to Gray, the idea came from the board of supervisors.
“I though we had a nice turnout,” Gray said. “It’s a nice event, and people can get an idea of what we are really working with.”

Representatives from the public works department and the fire marshal’s department were also present to show interested parties around the pieces of equipment they regularly use, such as the plow truck and smoke simulation trailer.
The township is currently working on a plan to replace the aging municipal complex. The proposed new complex would be 30 percent bigger and be build on the opposite side of the parking lot in the field across from the current township building on Lincoln Highway.
