A Bensalem man and a woman are in custody and accused of stealing firearms and then giving them to a Falls Township resident.
John Daley Sr., 46, and Karen McDermott, 58, are accused of stealing an AR-15, SKS assault rifle and handgun from McDermott’s estranged husband’s home on Ruby Lane in Bristol Township’s Levittown section. The burglary was discovered by McDermott’s estranged husband on Monday, February 2, according to court papers.

Two days after the burglary, McDermott’s estranged husband called a detective investigating the crime to report a neighbor had surveillance footage of a man and woman taking the guns. The couple were spotted using an older Chevrolet Malibu, police said.
McDermott’s estranged husband learned her boyfriend drove a similar sedan.
Investigators confirmed the Malibu belonged to McDermott and spotted her driving in it, court papers say.

Daley and McDermott were confronted by police and admitted to the burglary, according to court papers. They reportedly told a detective they gave the guns to a man who lives in the Pinewood section of Levittown in Falls.
Police said they recovered the guns from the Falls man who said he took the gun for a little bit of money as “collateral.”
Daley and McDermott were charged this week with burglary, theft, criminal trespassing and receiving stolen property. They were arraigned and sent to Bucks County lockup on 10 percent of $350,000 bail each.
