The demolition of Mary Devine Elementary School in Bristol Township’s Croydon section continued this week.
The Bristol Township School Board voted last month to officially close Mary Devine and move forward with plans to build a $39-million new elementary school on the site.

The Mary Devine property sits on wetlands but the new school will not be built on that portion of the acreage.
The construction of the new building can begin once demolition of the current building, which was built in the 1950s is completed. The new school is expected to be open for the start of the 2016-2017 school year, Superintendent Dr. Samuel Lee said recently.
Bristol Township Council voted to give the project final approval in October.
