Mam’zelle Salon on Woodburne Road had a fire last Saturday. Though the fire was mostly contained, the smoke damage has left the space occupied by Mam’zelle useless until repairs can be made.

According to Rachel Bullene, the owner of the salon, the entire staff has temporarily moved to Woodburne Plaza at 922 Woodbourne Road in Middletown.

“My whole staff came. There is a lot of teamwork here. The most important thing is staying together,” explained Bullene. She also explained that the staff of Mam’zelle is doing their best to keep everything “as normal as possible.”

According to Bullene, there is no current time frame for the original business space to be fixed.

“We really have no idea, everything is up in the air,” she said. “We are just thankful for everyone who is pulling together to help.”

All pre-existing appointments are standing as normal. There is a sign on the door telling people who arrive for appointments unaware the damage that the space suffered, Bullene said. The salon staff is calling people about a day before their appointment to explain the situation to those who may not know.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding,” said Bullene.
