Cavada, a former Bristol Township resident, is expected to have his Bucks County case dropped and then picked up by the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps, Penndel Police Chief Joseph Sciscio said.
“We just wanted to keep the case in our system until the Feds are ready to move forward,” the chief said.
Penndel authorities began an investigation into the air force tech sergeant in the fall.

The probe centered on two downloads of video files showing young girls engaging in sex acts. The files were allegedly downloaded to a computer based in a house on Friendly Lane in Bristol Township’s Levittown section.
Tracking the computer using its globally unique identifier, Sciscio said he found out later in fall and winter that the computer was in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. The chief added he found out in winter that Cavada was a member of the Air Force and was deployed in the Middle East.

When Cavada returned stateside, Burlington County, N.J. authorities executed a search warrant at Cavada’s residence. Sciscio said investigators recovered evidence during that search which allowed him to file charges in Bucks County.
Cavada was stationed out of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst but lived off base.
New Jersey authorities charged Cavada in late May with possessing child pornography and making it available online for others to download.

Cavada was a resident of the Friendly Lane home in September 2013 and had a laptop and internet, according to court papers.
While Sciscio was engaged in his investigation, special agents from the Air Force Office of Special Investigations Detachment 307 from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, and detectives from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit, the Pemberton Township Police Department and the Westampton Township Police Department were actively investigating Cavada.
