Volunteers Needed to Help Clear Waterways

The Silver Lake Nature Center, G.O.A.L (Greenbelt Overhaul Alliance of Levittown), International Coastal Cleanup, and Keep PA Beautiful are asking for your help this Saturday.

Volunteers will be working to clean the waterways in and around Bristol’s Silver Lake Nature Center and Magnolia Lake, as well as all of the land and water in between.

From 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., volunteers are welcomed to help tidy up the area. Those who work four hours will be given lunch, according to nature center staff.

The event is rain or shine. Participants are asked to bring a refillable water bottle and wear clothes they don’t mind getting wet and dirty.

“If you own a kayak or canoe and/or have a Boat and Water Safety Awareness Certification please contact us ahead of time; you will be asked to help us collect the litter and debris from the water instead of from shore,” according to a press release.
