The tournament is being held to raise money for the Jean M. Shapcott Memorial Scholarship fund, as well as to bring out the community who rallied around Shapcott in her sickness.

The horseshoe tournament, complete with cash prizes that will be paid out to the winners, will consist of teams randomly selected after the time of registration.

The event is being held at the Ancient Order of Hibernians’ Division Number One headquarters, at 614 Corson Street in Bristol Borough.

T-shirts and 50/50s ย will be available for purchase at the tournament.

Those attending are reminded to wear green in order to honor and support the memory of Shapcott, who died last year from a rare form of liver cancer. Shapcott was a 2011 graduate of Bristol High School.
