An event being hosted by the Bristol Cultural and Historical Foundation will show the importance of peaches.

The 20th annual Peach Social is taking place between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the air conditioned foundation’s headquarters at 321 Cedar street in Bristol Borough on Sunday, August 3.

The event, held every year, benefits the awards given to graduates of Bristol high School by the Bristol Cultural and Historical Foundation.
Visitors can arrive any time during the event and can buy tickets at the door. Tickets cost $5.00 for people over the age of 12, and $3.00 for anyone under the age of 12.
Ticket holders will be offered angel food cake topped with vanilla and New Jersey peaches and a cold drink, according to a press release provided by Helen Younglove. Homemade baked goods will also be available for purchase.

Visitors will be allowed to take home peaches as long as they provide their own containers.
Organizers suggest making the most of the day using a free self tour brochure available at the foundation’s headquarters starting at noon, as well as taking part in the free guided tour of the Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Museum at 610 Radcliffe street between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
