Residents in Northern Middletown Asked to Conserve Water


A pipeline problem caused officials from the Newtown Artesian Water Company to ask customers to conserve water.

Starting last week, officials from the water company have been asking residents of Newtown and northern Middletown to conserve water following a pipeline from a “major supplier” suffered a problem. A statement said the issue has caused the company to lose 50 percent of their water supply.

“We ask that you conserve water and refrain from the use of unnecessary water such as lawn watering, car washing and the filling of swimming pools,” a statement read.

The company said the problem should be resolved by Monday.
