Two people were hospitalized Thursday night after a crash on I-95 in Middletown Township.
According to state police, a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed on northbound I-95 near mile marker 41.5 when it struck the back of another vehicle. The second vehicle was pushed into a pole and then an embankment while the striking vehicle ended up on the shoulder.

A witness said the vehicle hit a road sign before ending up in the wooded embankment.
State police said in a statement that they are working to determine if drugs or alcohol were involved in the 9:18 p.m. crash.
Fire crews were called to the scene to assist with removing one of the people from their vehicle.

As of Saturday morning, there was no update on the condition of the two drivers that were taken to the hospital.
