Dog Owner Issued Ticket, Warning for ‘Dangerous Dog’

According to a borough police department press release earlier this week, the dog owner, Nick Ingelido, 25, of the 300 block of ย Jefferson Avenue, was cited by authorities for dogs not under control and a dangerous dog designation.

The summons issued Patrolman William Palmer, according to court records, has yet to be scheduled for a hearing.

The incident took place on May 20 in the latter part of the afternoon.

The incident became an attack ย as two American Staffordshire terriers, also known as pitbulls, crashed through the wooden fence in an effort to get to the small dog. ย One of the terriers bit the tip of ย finger of the hand of the owner’s grandmother, attacked its housemate and caused unknown injuries to the small dog, officials said.

According to Police Chief Arnold Porter, who cited borough ordinances, levied fines could top out at $1,000 for Ingelido.
