A man has been charged with stalking a local bartender.
According to Falls Township police, James Robert Samhammer, 31, of Levittown, followed a bartender who works at a Morrisville Borough tavern to her apartment and waited outside her door for about an hour on April 22.

Samhammer was recently banned from the bar where the woman was working for continued “unwanted attention toward [the bartender,]” court papers say.
The bartender said she saw Samhammer stalking her car in his green pickup around 3 a.m. when she was done with work. The woman drove around a bit and hoped Samhammer would back off but he did not, according to police.
The woman drove home and watched as Samhammer parked outside her apartment in the Commons of Fallsington complex and periodically left and returned, court papers say.

Around 4 a.m., Samhammer pulled up near the woman’s car and got his toolbox, police said. The woman, according to court papers, yelled at him from her balcony and he walked away from her car.
“[The woman] next observed Samhammer open the exterior door to her building using a knife. The door is secured to prevent anyone but residents and invited guests from entering the common areas. Samhammer then sat in front on [the woman’s apartment door for some time, before leaving,” court papers read.

The woman told police Samhammer’s actions have made her afraid to be alone in her apartment.
Samhammer was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, stalking and harassment. He was arrested in a warrant Wednesday and sent to Bucks County prison on 10 percent of $25,000.
