UPDATED: Teacher Charged for Having Child Porn, Cops Say

The website of the New Hope Academy, which has locations in Yardley and Doylestown, says Gana is employed as a teacher. He teaches digital photo and video production. The private school teaches students from grades six through 12 and specializes in “non-traditional education.”

A Middletown Township man was charged Friday with possessing child pornography.

Authorities said in an affidavit of probable cause that Eric Gana, 37, of Levittown, downloaded the illicit images to a computer located at a home on Trellis Road.

On Wednesday, members of the Middletown and Penndel police departments executed a search warrant on the home. Additional images of child pornography were discovered on computers in the home, police said.

Gana admitted during an interview to downloading and viewing child pornography on computers located in the home, according to court papers.

Police arrested Gana Friday morning and he was charged with child pornography, dissemination of photos/film of child sex acts and criminal use of a communications facility. He was arraigned by Judge Daniel Baranoski and is currently free after posting 10 percent of $10,000 bail.
