Student Newspaper Fight May Head to Court

The students behind theย policy decision to not use the term “redskin” in the Neshaminy High School newspaper are making headlines again.

The lawyers representing the editors of award-winning Playwickian sent a letter recently to school administrators telling them they will enforce their ban the word on “redskin.”

Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Chris Palmer wrote in a story posted Christmas Day that aย lawyer for the students said he “would not predict the next step – or rule out a lawsuit.”

The battle over the name came to a head in October when the just under two dozenย student editors banned word from the pages of the monthly newspaper.
