A Croydon man already charged with thefts from vehicles in Bristol Township and Bensalem is now accused of a similar crime in Falls Township.

Nathan Oppmann, 21, was charged Wednesday with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and loitering and prowling at night time, all while out on unsecured bail for a similar case out on Bristol Township and one in Bensalem. He is waiting a preliminary hearing in the Bensalem case and trial for the Bristol Township one.

According to police, Falls officers were called to Pinewood Drive for reports of a male looking into cars on a late September morning.

While heading to the address, a Falls officer spotted a man matching the description of the suspect riding a bicycle on Mill Creek Road. The officer stopped the man – identified as Oppmann – and began questioning him, police said.

Oppmann admitted to looking into some vehicles, but he was not sure where he did it at, according to court papers. The documents also show Oppmann later admitted to entering a vehicle in the Pinewood section of the township.

The 21-year-old was found with $118 cash and $8.90 in loose chance on him, police said.

A resident later reported his BMW was entered and a “few dollars” in spare change was stolen, according to police. The owner of the BMW also had surveillance footage that showed a suspect on the man’s front porch. Police said they were later able to confirm with Oppmann that he was the person in the video and that he entered a vehicle at the Palm Lane address.

In May, Oppmann was charged in connection with theft from vehicles in Bristol Township’s Fairless Hills section. An officer confronted the Oppmann and another suspect. In turn, and they jumped in the van and backed down the street in an attempt to hide the license plate from the off-duty officer, police said. They were both later charged after they ran into a wooded area in an attempt to escape.

Oppman’s latest charges have been filed via mail summons through District Judge Jan Vislosky’s court.
