Rep. Farry To Host Hearing on Recovery Home Bill

State Representative Frank Farry will host the House ย Health and Human services committee ย Tuesday, October 9 ย for a public hearing ย to examine House Bill 1298, which seeks to establish statewide standards to govern the health and safety environment of recovery based housing.

Farry, who authored the bill, ย spoke to LevittownNow earlier this summer about the measure, said he was hoping that such a hearing would happen. It would appear he got his wish.

The hearing is set to take place Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Middletown Township Municipal Building, 3 Municipal Way, Langhorne.

Scheduled to testify at the public meeting are Secretary Gary Tennis, Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs; Ted Millard, executive director, Good Friends Inc.; Fred Way, executive director, Philadelphia Association of Recovery Residences; Kevin Dippolito, fire marshal and emergency management director, Bristol Township; and Joe Pizzo, solicitor, Middletown Township.

Resident throughout Lower Bucks have expressed concern with the proliferation of recovery homes over the last year, expressing a need to put some controls in place.
