The Pennsbury Board of School Directors appointed Brian G. Shaffer as Principal of Fallsington Elementary School at the public School Board meeting held on August 29, 2013. Mr. Shaffer will replace outgoing Principal David Hughes, who plans to retire in the near future.

Mr. Shaffer joins Pennsbury after serving in various administrative and teaching capacities in the Philadelphia School District, most recently as an elementary Principal at the Solomon Solis-Cohen School. Mr. Shaffer also served as the Principal at the James R. Ludlow School and as Assistant Principal at the Penn Treaty Middle School. He has held additional leadership positions at the William H. Hunter School, including school-based instructional specialist and literacy leader. Mr. Shaffer also has prior teaching experience at the elementary level in both the Philadelphia School District and Richmond Public Schools in Virginia.
As a Pennsbury Principal, Mr. Shaffer will report to the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendents for the general administration of Fallsington Elementary. His duties will include staff evaluation, supervision and development, evaluation and administration of the instructional and educational programs, scheduling, organization of student activities, student discipline, financial management, facilities management, coordination of transportation, office management, and communication with parents.

Mr. Shaffer holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and K-12 Principal’s Certification from Gwynedd-Mercy College. He also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Certification in Elementary Education from Muhlenberg College.
