Several police officers were on-hand Monday afternoon as a woman who caused law enforcement several headaches during and after her arrest was arraigned before Falls District Judge Jan Vislosky.
Catherine Gerretz, 47, of Yellowwood Drive in Bristol Township’s Levittown section, was visibly upset and placed in the back of a Tullytown police cruiser following her arraignment. Vislosky sent Gerretz to county jail on 10 percent of $50,000 bail on charges of retail theft, receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and two less serious drug charges.

Tullytown Acting Police Chief Daniel Doyle told LevittownNow.com that Gerretz had several “mishaps” post-arrest and was attended to by medical professionals several times.
Outside the New Falls Road courthouse in Fallsington, numerous Tullytown officers and two state constables were seen handling the woman, who Doyle said had to be taken to the hospital.

It all started, according to court records, when Gerretz was pulled over in the area of Levittown Parkway and Spur Lane after a Walmart security official called 9-1-1 to report the woman had stolen store property shortly after 4 a.m.
Police said they transported Gerretz back to the store and security positively identified her as the suspect in the alleged retail theft. Walmart staff told police Gerretz stole several items from different departments.

An ambulance was called while police had the 47-year-old at Walmart, police said. They added that she was complaining of pain throughout her body.
Gerretz was freed from handcuffs so responding emergency medical personnel could check her vital signs, police said. At that point, according to court papers, Gerretz began refusing treatment and lunged at medics once police told her she was being arrested for retail theft. Police said they were able to restrain her and placed her back into custody.
Possible marijuana, pills and drug paraphernalia were recovered from Gerretz’s purse, police said, adding some of the marijuana appeared partially smoked.
