The sections of Levittown could soon be seeing a discoloration in their tap water.

According to the Lower Bucks Joint Municipal Authority, flushing of fire hydrants in areas featuring a Levittown mailing address – made up of parts of Falls, Bristol Twp., Middletown and Tullytown – is about to begin.

The work will take place sometime between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Crews will will start on May 7 and conclude on May 24.

Most flushing only disrupts service for about an hour.

The LBJMA says residents in the neighborhoods where hydrants are being flush can expect to see their water slightly discolored during the process. Officials discourage using the discolored water for drinking, cooking or cleaning.
